Lead Front End Engineer

The Product

Extole helps everyday consumers refer their friends to the brands they love through simple, well-designed sharing experiences with just enough gamification. Over 100 Million consumers have interacted with our experiences - in the best case it is so simple they barely notice, in every other case we’d like them to take pleasure in our work.

Your mission is to lead the team creating and evolving these experiences and the JSON-based creative theme container architecture that underlies them.

Company Overview

Extole’s mission is to help great consumer brands activate their greatest asset - customers that love their brand. We are the largest advocacy platform, and many of the most recognizable retailers, banks, and consumer brands connect us to their sites, apps, and stores to engage their current customers to refer their friends.

We have only one core value: #oneteam. We each succeed when we take responsibility for each other’s success, including our peers, our clients, and the consumers that use our platform.

Extole is backed by some of the best VCs in the valley, including Red Point, Shasta, Norwest, and Scale, and led by an executive team that created one of the core products in Adobe’s Marketing Cloud.

Extole is an event-driven platform that is composed of Java services that collaborate using REST and Kafka. Non-realtime processing is handled by Spark running MapReduce on our Hadoop cluster.  Our consumer-facing front end is composed of highly optimized custom libraries which are injected into client websites.  The administrative interface is a Backbone application built on top of our REST APIs. We use Terraform to fully describe our infrastructure on AWS.
